About the role
We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join our US team, based in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area. This role will work closely with our sales leadership and customers, acting as the technical expert during pre-sales engagements, solution deployments, and customer success initiatives.
As an FDE, you will be the bridge between sales, engineering, and customers — helping articulate Tsecond’s value proposition, driving successful solution adoption, and ensuring customer missions are supported with the right technical solutions.
What you'll do
- Customer Engagement & Pre-Sales Support
-
- Partner with sales leadership to engage customers (federal agencies, defense, M&E and enterprise clients).
-
- Understand customer missions, pain points, and technical requirements.
-
- Present Tsecond’s storage, AI, and data infrastructure solutions in customer meetings, demos, and workshops.
-
- Support RFP/RFI responses with technical documentation and compliance requirements.
- Solution Deployment & Technical Leadership
-
- Lead solution architecture and proof-of-concepts (PoCs) at customer sites.
-
- Provide hands-on deployment support, troubleshooting, and integration with customer infrastructure.
-
- Act as the technical advisor during the customer lifecycle — from pre-sales through post-deployment.
- Product Feedback & Collaboration
-
- Gather insights from customers and field engagements to provide feedback to product and engineering teams.
-
- Ensure Tsecond solutions evolve with real-world customer needs, particularly in federal and defense environments.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing
-
- Train customer teams on best practices for deploying and operating Tsecond solutions.
-
- Create technical collateral (deployment guides, reference architectures, FAQs).
Skills
- Experience: 5–8 years in a customer-facing technical role (Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Forward Deployed Engineer or support engineer).
- Strong understanding of:
- Enterprise & Defense IT infrastructure (storage systems, servers, HPC, big data platforms).
-
- Data storage systems (file systems, object storage)
-
- Operating systems (Linux/Windows), virtualization, and networking fundamentals.
-
- AI/ML workflows and large-scale data environments (preferred).
- Prior experience supporting Defense customers highly desirable. Former military with experience deploying tactical edge equipment and networking on command posts and mounted platforms highly desired.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to travel within the US for customer meetings, deployments, and industry events.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
